Uber Military Driver - Uber has been a long-time supporter of the United States Military, ever since they launched UberMILITARY two years ago with the goal of enlisting 50,000 military veterans to become drivers.
When a rider is matched with a driver who is registered with UberMILITARY, they will receive a notification telling them that their driver is a veteran or military family member.

The notification will appear as a card within Uber's new "feed," which has been an integral part of the recent redesign. As an update, these cards will display information such as restaurants near your destination and Snapchat filters customized to your ETA.
Biden And Harris Threaten Millions Of Uber Drivers And Riders
Considering there are now 70,000 service members, veterans and military spouses driving as part of UberMILITARY, there's a good chance you'll eventually be matched with a service member. And the app will distinguish between veterans themselves and military family members, just to avoid any confusion if you decide to thank your driver or bring it up in a conversation with them.
This move is great because even though Uber is free to start, it will go a long way in making veterans and their families feel valued. Now more than ever, after a tumultuous election season, it is important to remember that we are a united democracy, and it is our veterans who have given their lives to ensure that it remains so.
In addition to launching this announcement, Uber will honor Veterans Day 2016 by offering 6,000 military families $25 in Uber ride credits, as well as offering discounted rides today to and from select military bases.
